Spiritual direction is space to explore your relationship with God.
It is a place to explore prayer and spiritual practices, but it is not just for that. It is a place to bring everything that happens in your life, the events that feel holy and the events that feel mundane, for God can communicate through every aspect of our lives. Your spiritual director will care deeply about you, and will wonder alongside you where and how God might be moving.
In our busy lives, taking time to meet with a spiritual director can be a profound gift to ourselves. It is space to savor the blessings and consolations in our days, those small, sweet moments that we often miss in the rush. And it is a space to be honest about what is hard – the dark, overwhelming, or simply dry part of our life, the grief, the anger, the loneliness. Spiritual direction is a place to explore it all.
Spiritual direction is for you...
...if you’ve had a personal and rich spirituality for years. And spiritual direction is for you if you can’t imagine God actually speaking to you. It is for anyone who desires a deeper relationship with God.
I love being a spiritual director; it is an awesome privilege it is to hear the sacred story of another. At the moment I am not taking new directees, focusing instead on my current case load, Enneagram work, and writing. However, I am passionate about helping people find good matches for them for spiritual direction, and would be happy to hear from you and see if I can aid you in finding a spiritual director who is a good match for you. I also recommend SDI’s guidelines for finding a spiritual director, and their Seek and Find Guide to help find other options for spiritual directors who might be a good match for you.
